Ideals, Interiors and Influencers
Staging a Home
Our homes reflect dreams, social norms, technological developments and economic conditions. They reveal who we are, as well as who we aspire to be. In this temporary exhibition, we explore a small selection of home interiors from the mid-19th century and the present day, tracing a journey from the demanding lives of rural farmers to today’s homes that are constantly shared in digital spaces.
The exhibition highlights how ideals of home and living have shifted over time, while also raising questions that remain strikingly relevant: What makes a good home? Who is it created for? And who holds the power to define how we “should” live?
